- The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) plays an intergral role at Norwich University, where ROTC began. At Norwich, ROTC are called National Services. Our National Services websites fail to capture the variety of rigorous training offered by each program. We chose to redesign and restructure the Army ROTC website as a pilot. Once it’s launched and we modify the site according to usability testing, the rest of our National Services websites will received similar treatments. Strong visuals are vital in caputuring visitors attention and in portraying the physically demanding training.

- The primary audiences are prospective students. The majority of Norwich students enter our Corps of Cadets, and many of them opt to take ROTC and purse a career as an officer in a military branch.

- Five dramatic, full-size color images underly the homepage content. Visitors see a new image almost every time the arrive.
- A print-specific cascading style sheet that tailors pages on this site to print on 8.5 x 11 inch paper using only black ink. Web-specific items, such as navigation, are stripped from the printed page.

- The annual Colby Military Writers’ Symposium is one of the most prominent events hosted at Norwich University. It was in need of a more dynamic look & feel—visual elements throughout the site were dull and the treatments dated.

- The primary audiences are symposium authors and attendees, prospective and current students, the Norwich community, military writers, and prospective donors.
